Dubai has started preparing security for its 2027 New Year celebrations, with the Events Security Committee holding its first meeting on the arrangements.
Brigadier Obaid Mubarak Al Ketbi, Director of Dubai Police's General Department of Protective Security and Emergency and chairman of the committee, led the session at Emaar's headquarters. Dubai Police, Civil Defence, traffic authorities, other government entities and the event organisers attended.
Emaar's organising committee presented event locations, planned activities and arrangements for public entry and exit.
Al Ketbi said crowds and international media attention grow every year, with the Burj Khalifa as the main focal point. He asked the committee to review and update earlier security plans to reflect that growth, and said securing the celebrations is a responsibility shared by all the authorities involved.
